The November 18, 2024, deadline is swiftly approaching, where those who hold a commercial driver’s license will be downgraded to a regular driver license. According to the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) there are over 100,000+ safety-sensitive employees with an unresolved violation in the Clearinghouse.
In order to try and reduce the number of violations in the Clearinghouse DMV has aligned with DOT to downgrade drivers who show prohibited. In order to avoid this from happening to you, the first thing to do is to contact a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), who can help you move through the Return-to-duty process and make you eligible for the Return-to-duty (RTD) test with your current/future employer.
Since the SAP only takes a person to step 4 in the Clearinghouse, there are companies out there that can help clear your step 5 by sending you for the RTD test, making you “no longer prohibited” from operation a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
Check out the attached pamphlet from the Clearinghouse outlining the November 18th deadline. Contact Delivered2Choices today for further information and direction.
